Waiting on Wednesday (#3)

Waiting on Wednesday is about sharing a book every week you cannot wait to be published. This week, I'm waiting on

The Winds of Winter
(A Song of Ice and Fire, #6)
by George R.R. Martin

Genre: High & Epic Fantasy, Adventure, Adult Fiction

Expected Publication: 2015
Publisher: Voyager Books (UK)

I'm a huge fan of A Song of Ice and Fire series, and it is just simply killing me slowly from inside out that the expected publication is in 2015. There has been really long gaps between the other books as well, but I started reading the series only a little bit under 2 years ago, so I didn't have to wait for the others.

The last book ended with some serious cliffhangers and crucial development points, and it's just torture to wait 2 years! The Winds of Winter better be worth of the wait (well of course it is, it's Martin were are talking about here!)

Are there other fans of  A Song of Ice and Fire? Anyone else desperate for the book six?

    1. And think about how long we have to wait for the book seven, A Dream of Spring! That should be another 4 years or so.. Thanks for commenting. :)

  3. Great pick! I still haven't started the series, no idea when I'll do that, I blame it on the size & now on the tv show, too, why read it when I can watch it ;) Plus, then I'll have to wait for the next book, and that's always torture, but hopefully some time :)

    1. I totally understand why some people find it difficult to start the series, but I can sincerely say with some experience that once you start reading them you can't really stop until you've read them all. :D

      Thanks for stopping by! :)

  5. I'm not reading this series, but I feel for you having to wait until 2015. That is way too long!

    1. Tell me about it! But then again, I rather give him time to write an excellent book than little time and a mediocre novel. :) Thanks for stopping by!

  6. Hellsya! I'm trying to draw out reading the series in line with the seasons, so hopefully I won't get through them too quickly, but I can't believe the date for this is in 2015! So. long. away.

    1. Yeah it really is pretty far away! But then again, Martin has other projects going on like his comic books, and of course all the promoting for them and the TV show.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  8. Desperate for the next book? That would be a yes! :) So many things left hanging at end of Dance... the um Jon storyline not least among them. Good grief. Lets hope he gets this one out soon (not holding my breath!)

    1. I know, right! Martin really knows his stuff, doesn't he. First he hooks us all with his books and then left us reeling for more. :) The Winds of Winter probably will come out in 2015, and if we are unlucky in 2016 (hopefully not).

      Thanks for stopping by. :)

  9. I have yet to read the ASOIAF books, but I'm a huge fan of the show. Lol. I should really read the books. Hopefully, GRRM doesn't keel over before finishing it. ;D

    1. The show is incredible as well. :) I'm so happy they decided to do a big budget show out of it, otherwise it wouldn't have been very good. After all, everything is in so massive scale in the books! Thanks for stopping by! :)

    1. I feel you! Even though I'm dying to read it already, I can wait for a little bit longer as long as it as good as the others have been. :) Thanks for stopping by!

  11. I haven't read any of these books but they're EVERYWHERE! It's crazy how much love these books get. I actually own a copy of Game of Thrones as well, so I really should just read it to see what the hype is about but gah. Maybe I should wait like five years so hopefully the rest of the books will be published? (Wait, I don't even know how many are supposed to be written.)

    1. They are pretty hot stuff at the moment! And I can say that not for nothing. ;) My best friend also had some difficulties to start reading it, but when she got absorbed she probably read the whole book in matter of days (and she doesn't usually read high fantasy).

I think there are supposed to be 7 books all together, so one book after The Winds of Winter is published. That probably means that we have to wait 7 years until the series is finished. :D

      Thanks for stopping by!
