✿ What else I've been up to this week ✿

1. Tweeting with Marie Rutkoski. I just love it when you want to compliment an author on Twitter, and when she/he actually responds back to you! It's a small act but a huge gesture to make a little bit of time in your schedule to tweet back to your fans.

2. Raiding bookstores. I actually went to the city centre twice this week and found zero books to take with me?? I did get one paperback via mail and got two other e-books, but I can't believe I was able to resist all the pretty books in the bookstore. I'm not sure whether I should be proud or worried.

3. Skyping with mom and old friends. I live in a different country than my family or my closest friends do. So it's always extra special to have a long Skype talk with them and just ramble about nothing and everything. I can't wait to see them during the summer - it will be so nice.

How was your week?

  1. It sounds like you had an amazing reading week! Everbound is so good (I cannot wait to pick up the last book in the trilogy), and I've heard great things about The Winner's Curse. Your chat with Marie Rutkoski also looks fun - I love authors who respond to you on Twitter! The other week, I basically interviewed author Anne Blankman on Twitter about her book, Prisoner of Night and Fog. Marie's responsiveness makes me even more excited to read her novel.

I hope you have a lovely week this week!

    1. I still have to read Evertrue as well, I'm a bit sad the trilogy is approaching its end. :( And you should get the Winner's Curse - it was such a good read despite the slow start. :)

And yeah, it's great that the authors are responsive. Somehow it makes me like their books even more as I know that they are nice people, haha. :)

      Thanks for stopping by!

    2. Sofia, I've had at least two authors tweet me! One author is using quotes from my review in her tweets to promote her short story. It's so cool.

And the review I posted this week, I've gotten feedback from the author via Twitter as well.

It's motivation to find out of the author has a twitter account and use their handle in tweets!

  6. Sounds like an awesome reading week for you. I want to read The Winner's curse and Half Bad so much. I haven't borrowed or purchased a copy of either one yet. I just might buy them for my Kindle. I loved Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Did you like it?

    1. I really recommend both TWC and HB. :) They were even better than I expected them to be. And yes, I really loved Fangirl! I didn't it expect to be sad - I cried so many times while reading. Now I really want to read other books by Rowell. :)

      Thanks for stopping by!

  8. That's one of the best things about being a book blogger - the contact with authors, especially if they value us :) Skype has completely changed the way I can keep in contact with my parents who live about 2 hours on a plane away from me, in a different country.
Have a great week and Happy Reading.

    1. I so agree with you there - it's good to know once in a while that the authors actually care about what we think and value us. :) I don't know what I would do without Skype! I probably couldn't stand the radio silence.

Thank you and thanks for stopping by!

  9. Always nice to interact w/ authors on Twitter. I have a hard time hitting a bookstore and not getting something too- it feels weird to walk out without a book, but sometimes that's good cause I think I spend too much on new books! :)

    Have a great week!

    1. Tell me about it! It demonstrates some real character if you're able to walk away without any books in your hands. :) I should try to resist more because I still have paperbacks at home that I haven't read yet.. I should read those before buying any new ones!

      Thanks for stopping by. :)
