✿ What else I've been up to this week ✿

1. Rekindling the blog. I have been on a very long, unplanned hiatus from blogging. You know, because of life. Life happens. Things get crazy and the posts on your blog get fewer and fewer, and then you realize you haven't written anything for the better part of a year. THIS NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.

2. Transfer at work. I'm hoping that I'll get a transfer to bigger city from where I currently live in. I live in my hometown which is nice and sleepy town, but I feel like I need more action! I crave for change and now is a good time to change things a little in my life. Hopefully I'll get the transfer!

3. Writing. Besides a very good week in terms of reading (fours books!), I have written a bit as well. I'm working on a mess of fantasy novel, which is fun to write, but I'm starting to think it's is a bit generic. And now I'm thinking whether I should shelf it for now and tackle some other project. Hmm.

✿ What else I've been up to this week ✿

1. Writing. I'm a very easily excited person, but unfortunately, that excitement often passes a way quickly. The good thing is though that my excitement can be rekindled quickly again, but I do need a concrete thing to motivate me and a small push from someone to the direct direction. This week I got these both down, and now I'm writing daily again (I am talking about writing). I have this forever-project (a.k.a. a novel) that I've been working on, and now I'm getting some really cool ideas to play with! 

2. NetGalley & Edelweiss. I've been really lazy reading and reviewing ARCs that I've gotten, so this week I've pushed myself to read and write reviews, and I'm pretty happy with myself with the result - 2.5 books read and 4 reviews.

3. Food market. A touring food market came to my town this week and I went there with some friends. I hate those places when you have a limited amount of money and there are literally 30 different stall selling the most delicious looking and smelling things ranging from Greek, French, German, Italian, to Belgian. Drool. (I got some Pad Thai and then a Belgian waffle with nutella and bananas for dessert)

✿ What else I've been up to this week ✿

1. NaNoWriMo. I had no idea that such a wonderful annual event took place! I think I was super lucky that I had my nose buried in my laptop last Sunday because I came across a post where the blogger was hyping about the upcoming month. And you may ask why? Because of National Novel Writing Month! 

So it's my first year participating in this, but I'm loving it so much already. The basic idea is like the name suggest: write a novel within a month, or in other words, 50 000 words. What I've seen a lot around is that you just focus getting that 50K by the end of the month, to get the story out there, and then edit the shit out of it later. NaNoWriMo isn't just about writing alone either, but there are writing sprints, competitions, and talks with famous authors (yesterday it was with Marissa Meyer, she is so aweosome). The community is so supporting and welcoming, which makes me feel like this is my 10th time participating.

My progress so far is that I reached 20k yesterday and hoping to have 25k by tonight!

I don't know if all this that I'm just being in this weird frenzy writing not doing much else (I haven't even read that much!!) sounds nerdy or cool to you (I think it's super cool). But I'm enjoying it so much, even though I've been a bit isolated this week. Whoopsie.

1. Back in the game. So some of you might have noticed that I've been gone for a couple of months. Not because I didn't want to blog anymore, but simply because I had no time for it. I had to move to another city, leave all me friends behind, and start over pretty much in every way. But now that I'm settled and found some kind of routine for my life - blogging is on!

2. Study? Study! So I started going to a grad school two months ago, and let me tell you, it's a lot of work. Maybe not as much work I first imagined it would be, but you can just see in the professors' eyes that they are expecting a lot from you. And that's why I've always wanted to be as prepared as possible for the lectures and seminars, hence studystudystudy.

1. Outdoors Cinema. There have been free viewings of classics, musicals, animations, adventure, and sci-fi films for the whole weekend in Edinburgh, so I've been there for everyday to watch a couple of movies. So nice, especially when the sun decided to come out and join us to watch the films.

2. Graduation dress. I'm going to have my graduation ceremony in a couple of weeks, so I thought it would be about time to finally buy a dress for the occasion. Even though I've been pretty aware for a long time now that my undergrad career is about to end, but buying the dress finally made it really sink in. Where did the four years go??

✿ What else I've been up to this week ✿

1. Edelweiss/NetGalley. I'm so excited because finally (finally) some of the book requests that I've been dying to get accepted, are being accepted. I've been blogging on-and-off for almost two years now, but really started to get the hold of it this spring. And I think all the blogging, reading, reviewing, and networking is paying off, because publishers like HarperCollins and Penguin has finally started to accept my requests. And that makes me equally happy and humbled. 

2. Meadows Festival. I absolutely love small, annual city festivals, and Edinburgh's Meadows Festival is here! It started yesterday and continues until tonight. There are free gigs, stalls selling different merchandises, food, and I think some junior football games too. Fun!

3.  Going home. I booked flight tickets on July, so I can go visit my parents for a month. I haven't seen them since Christmas, so it should be really nice. And to spend a part of the summer in my childhood home is just one of the most loveliest things ever. Can't wait!

✿ What else I've been up to this week ✿

1. Eurovision 2015. Of course I watched this annual burst of over the top performances with rainbows and acceptance! It's always so much fun to watch. And congratulations Sweden for the winning performance!

2. The Loveliest Saturday. I had the loveliest friend-date on Saturday. I don't see this one friend of my so often anymore, because she is working so much, but occasionally we have these friend-dates in which we just wander around the city going to independent jewellery stores, for a froyo, and then sit in the park - just basking in the sun. It was so nice. We just talked about everything and nothing and enjoyed spring.
